EROAD MCP server: connect EROAD to AI

EROAD MCP is a hosted MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that lets an AI assistant read your EROAD fleet data. You add one URL — https://eroadmcp.co.nz/mcp — to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code, sign in with your email, and then ask questions about your fleet in plain English. Access is read-only and costs NZ$29 per month after a 3-day free trial.

What it does

EROAD records where your vehicles are and what your drivers are doing. That information normally lives inside MyEROAD, behind reports and dashboards. EROAD MCP puts the same information in front of your AI assistant, so you can ask for it in the same way you would ask a colleague.

Typical questions people ask:

What data it can read

Not available: trip history, road user charges (RUC), fuel data and vehicle inspections. EROAD's public API does not expose them, so no product built on that API can offer them.

Why use it

Fleet questions are usually urgent and specific: one vehicle, one site, one driver, right now. Building a report for each of those questions is slow. Asking in plain English is fast, and the answer arrives inside the tool you are already writing in — an email draft, a job plan, a customer message.

How to set it up

Before you start you need an EROAD account on a plan that includes API access (EROAD's Premium plan) and an API key created in MyEROAD. Here is how to create the key.

Then follow the guide for your AI app:

Security

Your EROAD API key is encrypted before it is stored and is never shown again. Your fleet data is fetched live from EROAD when a question is asked and is not stored on our servers. Every tool is read-only, so nothing in EROAD can be changed. You can revoke a connected AI app from your dashboard at any time, or delete the API key in MyEROAD to cut access off completely.
